The government plan: Part A (hospital) + Part B (doctors/outpatient). You can go to any provider that accepts Medicare. Doesn't cap your out-of-pocket on its own.
A private plan that replaces Original Medicare, often bundling drugs, dental, and vision. Lower premiums, but a network and an out-of-pocket max. Plans vary a lot by county.
Private insurance that sits on top of Original Medicare and pays the gaps (deductibles, coinsurance). Higher premium, fewer surprises, any Medicare provider.
Prescription drug coverage. A standalone plan with Original Medicare, or built into most Advantage plans. The right one depends on your specific prescriptions.
